Revised Bylaws
Your Board of Directors has developed a new set of bylaws for your approval. This is a better organized and more detail version of what we already are doing. The most significant change is our recommitment to County Service Area Representatives, voting board members who focus primarily on issues, activities, and events at the local county level. At the next election, you will be asked to approved or disapprove of the new bylaws, and to vote for County Service Area Representatives. You can see the new bylaws here. We will have space to discuss the changes at the upcoming annual conference in October. See you there!
Board Nominations
It is time once again to start thinking about joining our board and share your leadership skills. This year is a little different, as our President-Elect resigned to focus on family. We will be voting directly for a President, who will be serving a two-year term. Next year we will be voting for a President-Elect, who will serve one year as President-Elect, and then two years as President.
Also new this year, we will be voting for County Representatives. They are part of our current bylaws, and if you vote in favor of the new bylaws, they will be known as County Service Area Representatives and have voting rights on the Board. Hawai‘i and Honolulu counties will be voted for a one-year term to start them off. Next year they will be voted for a full two-year term. Maui and Kaua‘i counties will be voted for a full two-year term.
We are also looking for a Vice President of Membership Services, and three At-Large seats. Think about who you would like to see in those positions, or volunteer to help out. We would love to see you!
