Submitting Testimony

Submitting testimony for a state bill, either for or against the bill, is easy.

1. Visit the Hawai‘i State Legislature website.  You can use the button below.
2. Type in the bill number you are interested is responding to, such as "HB 123."
3. Click the orange "Submit Testimony" button
4. Log In or Register
5. Click "Continue"
6. Fill in the fields, type "I support this bill" or "I am against this bill", and SUBMIT

Sample Testimony

Need a little help figuring out what to say?  In general, you need to be very specific and very brief.  Here is a sample of what you could say in your testimony.

Mahalo Chair Marten, Vice Chair Olds, and committee members for hearing HB123. This bill addresses one of the most pressing and costly concerns for working locals - child care access. The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program is a successful public-private partnership that, if expanded, could provide more much-needed assistance to hardworking families. Please support this program expansion as a way to support working parents and increase child care services in our state.
